Inside the COVID Unit: Battling the Coronavirus Pandemic in Miami is a five-part Miami Herald/McClatchy documentary series chronicling the experiences of front-line healthcare workers, patients and families at a public hospital during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. With extraordinary access to Jackson South Medical Center in Miami-Dade County, the series documented the fear, uncertainty, loss and resilience unfolding inside the hospital as doctors and nurses confronted a new and deadly disease and families were largely kept outside.
